World Post Day is one of the international days of the United Nations system. It is held annually on October 9 by the decision of the 14th Congress of the Universal Postal Union on the day of the union in 1874. And the World Post Day, this day was proclaimed at the Congress of the World Postal Union, held in Tokyo in 1969.

According to the UPU, International Mail speaks 6,800 of its customers' languages and is the world's longest physical mail delivery network. It is designed to provide reliable, efficient, and economical transport of goods and exchange of ideas. Mail transmits personal thoughts of friends over long distances. It helps firms of all sizes to find customers and meet their needs.

Modern mail in many industrialized countries is actively working in the sector of logistics, postal banking, catalog trade, and direct mail, actively developing information technology, hybrid mail, and e-commerce.

The goal of today's World Post Day is to promote the role of the postal sector in the daily life of people and companies and its contribution to the socio-economic development of countries. Member States celebrating this Day are encouraged to develop programs of activities to raise awareness of the role and activities of their postal services among the public and the media at the national level.

Every year, events held within the framework of the Day (thematic exhibitions of rare and rare stamps and postcards, contests for postage stamp drawings, various educational events, open days, conferences and workshops, sports, and entertainment events) are dedicated to a specific topic. Posts in many countries are taking advantage of this opportunity to introduce or promote new postal products and services. And some post offices also take advantage of this day and hold awards ceremonies for their most distinguished employees.
