7th of April – World Health Day

In 2018 and 2019, World Health Day was dedicated to the topic of universal health coverage by WHO, to help people better understand what support and services should be available to them and where they could get them. The idea of universal health coverage is to provide all people with the opportunity to receive quality health services in the right place and at the right time - without any financial difficulties.

2020 is declared the International Year of Nursing and Midwifery Workers, therefore, the Day's events are dedicated to the vital role of nurses and midwives in protecting the health of people around the world and the need to strengthen nursing and midwifery services.

WHO recognizes the important role of health professionals in facilitating the understanding by health managers of the health needs of people, in particular at the primary health care system level. A campaign on the occasion of the Day may also be an occasion for ministers of health and other government officials to commit themselves to close the gaps in universal health coverage in their countries, as well as summarizing the work already done.

World Health Day is a global campaign that aims to attract the attention of every inhabitant of our planet to health and health problems, with the aim of conducting joint actions to protect the health and well-being of people.
