21st of November – World Hello Day

Today Veronikalove and all its members are celebrating a very special holiday.

World Hello Day is celebrated annually on November 21. This unusual and good-natured holiday recognizes the role that communication plays in preserving peace and goodness on the planet. One of the main goals pursued by brothers Brian and Mike McCormack from the American state of Nebraska is to call on world leaders and ordinary people to use communication, not force, to resolve various kinds of conflicts.

World Greetings Day was first celebrated in 1973, during the Cold War, in response to the conflict between Egypt and Israel. Since the brothers knew seven languages, they wrote over a thousand letters of greeting, which contained positive information, presented with cordiality and goodwill. After sending them to different countries, the brothers asked the recipients to present their benevolent greetings to other people.

Agree, a greeting can be one small word or gesture, but it means a lot. The greeting contributes to the establishment of good relations, reminds of the need to wish good morning or afternoon, health and good mood.

Try to celebrate this amazing holiday today by greeting at least ten strangers. A simple bow or handshake, a kiss or an air kiss, a simple “Good afternoon” or “Hello” will be pleasant to those around you and you will receive a sea of positive emotions in return for the whole day, and maybe even more!

Don't forget to greet the most special person for you on Veronikalove, or even more than one. You can always do it via chat, write a letter or call.
