Kiss is an integral part of relationship. It can start everything, and everyone dreams of the true kiss of love. It can turn a frog into a prince and light the stars in the sky. It can tell about love, sadness, missing, parental feelings, friendship – everything without a single word. So, it is obvious that people couldn't avoid this wonderful manifestation of love and created a holiday.

It was firstly invented in Great Britain, but it is such a closed action that there are no records on when exactly the Kissing Day was born. Though it was so liked by everyone that it transformed into the World holiday. Kiss is an international gesture that almost everywhere means the same – the showing of nice feelings.

There are many theories of the appearing of the kiss. According to scientists, it is believed that in ancient times a mouth feeding of growing children was widespread. Of course, this is not a very pleasant process to imagine, but such a theory has a place to be. Another widespread hypothesis goes back to ancient Greece. Back at the Golden Age wine was one of the most widespread drinks, and it was especially loved by women what was not appreciated by their husbands. A husband who has spent the whole day doing important work could easily understand if his wife had drunk wine by pressing his lips towards hers seemingly showing his affection to her, and this might have resulted into the appearing of this intimate gesture.

As the kiss is something personal, it is not as popularized and commercialized as the St. Valentine's Day. This is the action that should happen between those who value each other. But people like to celebrate something, so there are different events that unite those who don't feel shy to show affection in front of others.
