4th of September – World Beard Day

The story of wearing or not wearing a beard is a story of preferences, tastes, fashion trends, religious beliefs, ideas of beauty and masculinity, the story of human life.

There was a period in the history of Russia when the beard, as an everyday phenomenon, even turned out to be a sign of adherence to traditional values in spite of the innovations of European fashion. Without going into the reasons for the extremes of many of Peter's transformations, among which was the beard tax, which caused a lot of indignation among the contemporaries of Peter I, it should be remembered that the beard turned out to be that cultural phenomenon that attracted attention long before the era of the first Russian emperor. Discussion at the highest state level of the issue of the permission to wear a beard rose in Europe as early as the 16th century, and in church circles even earlier - in the 12th century.

However, today the beard has become a "trend", which is not only talked about, but even sung from the stage. The return of beard fashion also expanded the range of services, when hairdressing salons began to provide beard grooming services, following the market principle of following demand. The concept of "barber shop" began to revive, and the concept of "barbershop" appeared. In these establishments, in addition to hair cutting, a whole range of mustaches and beard care services are provided. Many of these establishments are becoming like men's clubs.

Every first Saturday in September is a holiday celebrated by those who wear beards, those who love this fashion, and those who are involved in beard care services. Various events are timed to the holiday, including photo exhibitions, photo shoots, flash mobs, where beard owners demonstrate to everyone how a beard can radically change a man's image. Barber shavers give master classes on beard grooming or beard modeling for a person with certain facial features.

Do you have a beard? Did you ask your second half on Veronikalove if she likes it? If no, do it!
