Every year on December 10, the world is still informally, but traditionally, World Football Day is celebrated. Thus, the international community pays tribute to this sport, which for many millions is not just a game, but a lifestyle. Of course, in honor of the holiday, many football matches of all levels and scales are held.

The first mention of football as "kicking the ball" was found by historians in Chinese sources dating back to the second millennium BC. The game was called Tsu Chiu, which means "push with the foot." Playing football allowed Chinese warriors to keep fit.

When this game first appeared, no one knows for sure. Some argue that the precursor to football was the wild game of the Saxons who lived in England in the 8th century. On the battlefield, after battles, they kicked the severed heads of the enemy.

Very little is known about this game - that there were a goal and a goalkeeper, that the game was part of the physical training of soldiers, and that it was known three thousand years ago. And the net on the football goal was first used in March 1891 during a match between the national teams of the North and South of England.

Football was played both in Ancient Greece and Rome about two and a half thousand years ago. In Greece, this game was called "battle for the ball", from which it can be assumed that they played it accordingly - using all kinds of martial arts techniques.

This game passed to us through centuries and is surely worth having its own day!
