In 1776, Richard Henry Lee offered the Independence Resolution that would make all Thirteen Colonies free from the rule of Great Britain. And actually the first approve of this resolution was made on the 2nd of July, but final official resolution was adopted on the 4th of July by the committee with Thomas Jefferson at the head. Due to this, the holiday is celebrated exactly on the fourth day, because the official announcement was spread among people this day despite the fact that it was actually created two days before. The official title the way we know it, Independence Day, was first used in 1791.
This day is the national holiday. Not a single institution is working. Even banks, posts, courts and educational institutions are closed. Since 1938 this day is the paid holiday for all workers. This day all families gather to have great time together. They decorate their houses with the national symbols and flags and visit various events such as big parades held in each city. At the end of the day there are always big fireworks that light the cities in all colors of freedom.
For 241 years the United States of America has been the free country open for possibilities and everyone who wants to achieve any hight if they wish to and have aspiration.
