27th of June – World Day of Fishing

The World Fishing Day is the holiday that is close for those people who are passionately in love with such a wonderful hobby as fishing.

In July 1984, there was the World Conference of Fisheries Management held in Rome. And the result of this meeting was the creation of this holiday which was first celebrated in 1985.

It is believed that fishing is the most widespread free-time occupation of men all around the world. This is not only a simple way of spending time but also the combination of getting something by your own hands that can be later eaten and the union with nature. You should at least once go for fishing to feel this by yourself and understand that you will never agree to refuse from this.

People are occupied with fishing since ancient times. It stand at the same stage with hunting, but is less harmful and hard, and absolutely everyone can do it. You just need a water reservoir and a rod. It is pleasant to leave the noisy city for a weekend and spend a day or two in the nature near a fire waiting for the fish to be caught that you can later eat by yourself or bring back home and please your woman with it.

On the 27th of June fishermen from all over the world gather to participate in competitions on who is the more skillful. Everyone can take part whether he comes for the first time or already has a big experience. Surprisingly, but women also become more and more involved in this occupation. It not only unites people but also strengthens the spirit and teaches patience and balance.

It is important to treat fishing responsibly. Each year fishermen cause big influence on fish when they don't stick to the rules and don't catch it only when and where it is allowed. So, before taking a rod, check if it doesn't harm the environment.
