14th of June – International Weblogger’s Day

Every year on June 14, the Internet community celebrates the International Weblogger’s Day.

The idea of holding this holiday was born in 2004. Immediately 500 people from over 40 countries, having united, decided that they needed their day - a kind of symbol of friendly relations between network bloggers around the world.

A blogger is a person who independently maintains and administers his Internet diary, where he regularly talks about the events of his life, shares photos, expresses his thoughts, expresses an opinion on some urgent problems in his opinion.

This holiday brings people who write on their blogs in different languages closer and gives them the opportunity to support each other and all Internet users. Anyone with access to the worldwide network can join the bloggers' community, regardless of gender, nationality and age.

So, on June 14, 2007, on the third anniversary of Blogger's Day, every user of the World Wide Web who has his own blog published in it a short message about solidarity between all bloggers. And in several countries on this day "live" meetings of bloggers have been held for several years now.
