Luckily, an artificial selection made its work, and now we can enjoy a very sweet and tasty treat. Watermelons consist of water for 90% what makes them very refreshing during the hot summer day. Even a long time ago people appreciated this berry very much. For example, ancient explorers used watermelons as canteens, as it is convenient to store them, they are kept fresh for a very long period of time, and they are surely tastier than simple water.

Actually, Ukraine is the country that is well-known for its watermelons, so it is not the only USA that highly appreciates them. In the southern part of Ukraine, there are lots of fields where people grow only watermelons, and they are later exported to many other countries. There is a saying in Ukraine: you’ve bought a watermelon, and you are now well-fed, well-watered and well-washed.

If you wish to celebrate this day, you should simply purchase one and enjoy it with your friends and family! Or you may be more creative. There are many people who turn watermelons into real pieces of artwork. Maybe you should try this too? Your single Slavic bride will surely appreciate if you show her what you’ve managed to create an online video chat! But the main thing is surely just enjoying this sweet and refreshing berry.
