Romantic Success

People who easily make acquaintances with potential romantic partners have always been, are and will be the subject of envy and admiration. It is rather difficult to describe the qualities that these people possess, but usually it is innate charisma, a sense of humor and external attractiveness. Of course, social status, intellectual level, and other qualities of character also play a certain role, but they are usually revealed a little later. And what about online dating?

According to the latest analysis of online dating, people online try to meet those who, in their opinion, are better than themselves - more physically attractive, more interesting + receive more attention from other users. The algorithm, which studied heterosexual users from Boston, New York, Seattle and Chicago, also showed that women get a response 50% of the time, while men who tried to start communication with top users succeeded only 21% of the time. Even if these numbers seem low, it's worth looking at it differently: it's likely that under traditional circumstances, this % would be zero.

But in the online dating environment, there are also some rules, the implementation of which increases the chances of success:

Send many messages to different users - perseverance and determination are rewarded;
Aim higher - choose the best potential partners - a winning strategy;
Be concise - long literary opuses may go unread;
Be patient - the dream partner might just be studying the market.
Now let's discuss the points in more detail. Both men and women usually write long messages to the candidate they like, but studies have shown that this does not affect the response rate in any way. Therefore, it is better to save your time from unnecessary writing. The reason for this lies in the fact that popular users receive a lot of messages and may simply not open yours or postpone it “for later” after seeing several long paragraphs. The higher you aim, the lower your chances of success. That is life. But this does not stop users at all, but, on the contrary, provokes them. Well, if you do not receive a response, please be patient, you may still be answered later. The desired partner can study the market or simply get used to a new environment for him / her. Although the calculation is somewhat confusing, studies have shown that the chance of finding a desired partner increases if you reject the first 37% of users. Then you must choose a potential interest that is better than all the previous ones.

As it turns out, details matter too. The information on your profile should consist of 70% of your bio (about you) and 30% of the desired partner. Although, many users write messages without first reading these sections. Also think about the response time: a message received at 2 am and at 9 am will be perceived completely differently.

There are also some gender differences. Women often give more friendly responses, while men tend to look cool and not very welcoming. Another sad stereotype was also confirmed: the most attractive age of a man in the eyes of a woman is about 50 years old, but the attractiveness of women in the eyes of men fell from 18 years onwards.

However, do not be upset and refuse to search for love on the net. Yes, studies have shown that most correspondence ends in nothing, but there is also good news: during the search for a partner - before meeting in person - many users bet on superficial aspects (external data, popularity, etc.), but after the first date change their relationship, focusing on more important qualities of a potential partner (we are talking, of course, about those who are looking for a serious relationship). Dare!
